Naheda Ali

Naheda has been with Ek Tara for the last 4 years, and is an inspiration to other young girls as she is one of our first students to have joined graduate studies. She is pursuing a BA degree in commerce at one of Kolkata’s most prestigious colleges, Sri Shikshayatan. Naheda completed her schooling from Khalsa High School.
Naheda lives with her parents and an older brother a one room flat, sharing a toilet with 4 other families. Her father runs a small tea stall near Ek tara’s community centre and is the only earning member with an income of about Rs. 6000 per month. Her brother too is enrolled in college pursuing a BA degree in Commerce.
She is one of our brightest students and makes us extremely proud with her consistent performance. Aside from Accountancy, her other interests include painting and singing. She was also trained as a street educator for our mobile school project – CPK where she performs her role sincerely. Growing up in Topsia area,
