Abuse Recognition workshop by TFI fellows
The TFI fellows facilitated a session on “sexual abuse and body rights” to raise awareness and discuss effective ways to communicate this sensitive topic with our students.
During the workshop, the focus was on educating students about safe and unsafe touch, inappropriate touch, personal space, and the concept of marital rape. The participants actively engaged in sharing ideas on how to inform students about the difference between good and bad touch. Various forms of sexual abuse, including marital abuse, were thoroughly discussed to provide clarity on the subject. Real-life incidents were shared as examples to enhance understanding.
The main takeaway from the session was learning how to make students aware of abuse and empowering them to speak up against it. It was emphasized that everyone has a role to play in creating a safe environment and encouraging others to raise their voice against any form of abuse.
