Discovering Mirik

A group of 30 eighth graders, along with 10 adults, set off on an unforgettable five-day adventure to Mirik. Their journey kicked off with a train ride, followed by a scenic cab trip through the winding hills, leading them to the charming Birdsong Homestay. The students reveled in the lush greenery, orange orchards, and serene landscapes, wrapping up their day with a cozy bonfire. On the second day, they started with a refreshing yoga session, which set the tone for visits to the Bokar Monastery and a stunning viewpoint. They also explored Mirik Lake, dressed in traditional Darjeeling attire, and savored hot momos while enjoying the cool mist. The third day took them to Phuguri Tea Estate, where they discovered the intricacies of tea production, organic farming, and the importance of worker welfare. Their adventure continued at Bengal Safari, where they observed magnificent animals like tigers and bears in their natural surroundings. This trip was not only filled with education and adventure but also provided cultural insights, hands-on experiences, and lasting memories.
