The Ek Tara Community Centre (ECC) is a 10,000 sq ft facility that promotes economic independence and social advancement of women. It provides a range of programs, such as vocational training, income-generating activities, and resource development.

On February 14, 2024, Ek Tara proudly launched the Ek Tara Bakes initiative, led by Michelin-starred pastry chef Mr. Roger Van Damme, alongside Mr. Shashvat Dhandania from the Kolkata restaurant ‘To Die For.’ This project, supported by the ‘Her Future Coalition,’ aims to empower the women of Ek Tara and the community by teaching them valuable baking skills, enabling them to lead more independent lives.
After completing a rigorous four-month training program, seven women were chosen to intern at the bakery. “Ek Tara Bakes” now produces over 800 mid-morning snacks, including buns, cookies, and pound cake, for the beneficiaries of the learning centre.
