Session by Kolkata Pride

Pride held an awareness session at ELC to foster understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. A total of 54 individuals participated, including educators, office personnel, support staff, and community leaders. The event featured personal narratives from seven speakers, shedding light on the difficulties and societal obstacles the community faces. Important topics discussed included the value of sharing circles for open conversations, the ongoing need for advocacy, and the announcement of an upcoming performance workshop designed to cultivate empathy through creative expression. Participants were actively involved, gaining valuable insights and pledging to promote inclusivity. The session effectively established a safe and welcoming atmosphere, motivating attendees to advocate for equality and challenge societal norms.
