Teaching Conservation Through Creativity: International Tiger Day at Ek Tara

On International Tiger Day, Ek Tara buzzed with excitement as children came together to celebrate the majestic tiger — the king of the jungle and a symbol of strength and balance in nature. Through engaging storytelling sessions featuring folk tales like “The Tiger’s Whisker” and “How the Tiger Got Its Stripes,” the children learned about the tiger’s role in the ecosystem and the importance of protecting its natural habitats in places like the Sundarbans, Bandhavgarh, and Kaziranga. The celebration continued with creative activities such as tiger face painting and handmade mask-making, allowing children to express their learning through art. A map activity highlighting tiger reserves across India added a geographical lens to their understanding. The day was a perfect blend of fun and learning, nurturing in our children a deep appreciation for wildlife and inspiring them to become the future guardians of our planet.
