World Library Day: Stories That Shape Futures

This World Library Day, Ek Tara celebrated the transformative power of reading in shaping young minds and bright futures.

Through our partnership with the Bhabook Foundation, two key initiatives—The Story Hub Library and Golpo Ghor—are bringing literacy to life for thousands of children in Kolkata. These vibrant spaces promote reading, creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning.

On this special day, children immersed themselves in storytelling circles, read aloud sessions, and creative activities that sparked imagination and joy. Teachers and parents also joined in, making it a true community celebration of books and stories.

Since October 2023, Golpo Ghor has expanded to 14 schools across 8 locations, creating joyful reading environments and engaging children through storytelling and interactive sessions.
